Good Dog Award Winners – Rescue Express Transport

Providing transportation for shelter animals to new lives in the Pacific Northwest

Good Dog of the Week Award

The Good Dog Blog will be awarding a weekly “Good Dog Award” for dogs doing good things and those doing good things for dogs.

This week’s Good Dog Award goes to Rescue Express Transport in Eugene, Oregon. Rescue Express is a non-profit organization that provides transportation to thousands of shelter animals from high kill shelters in California to adoption organizations and shelters in the Pacific Northwest.

Rescue Express Founder and retired software entrepreneur Mike McCarthy started the life saving road trips in February 2015 and over 5000 animals have been saved thus far. They work with over 150 rescue partners in Oregon, California, and Washington state, making trips in their specially designed bus. Animals that may have been euthanized due to lack of money, lack of resources and lack of time or space, are given new lives thanks to Rescue Express. Rescue Express also provide assistance to pets in need during national disasters.
