Halloween begins a busy season in many households. The arrival of trick-or-treaters and Thanksgiving and holiday guests can send many dogs into a whirlwind of jumping up, barking, and over-arousal. Many dogs become over-stimulated by the sound of the doorbell alone. This time of year is ideal for helping your dog develop and practice polite greeting behaviors. Here […]

Royal here, once again to give you the dog’s perspective. This time, I’d like to comment on Jenn’s blog “Reduce frights and bites during Halloween.” So there’s this time of year where you humans get so weird! Jenn Merritt, BS, CPDT-KA, and Kim Merritt-Butler grew up loving dogs. Jenn became a professional dog trainer and Tellington TTouch practitioner and Kim became a serial entrepreneur. Last year they got their heads together and came up with a new way to approach dog training for families. Good Dog in a Box was born.
Their mission is to keep dogs and kids safe through education, awareness, and advocacy. They want to reduce the number of family dogs surrendered at animal shelters by promoting positive, reward based training techniques that are family and kid friendly.
Jenn and Kim want everyone that owns a dog to have fun and enjoy their furry companion. Together, we can make a difference.
